Agree - both drawing and colours are perfect. I am taking my sketch book to the South of France on Saturday and, inspired by your lovely pen and wash painting, am going to record some of the scenes there. By the way, love the sky.

Thea, Which part of the south of France are you visiting? I was in Provence last year - Aix en Provence, Arles, Casis, St Tropez, Avingon etc. I had the sketch book with me and filled pages with drawings - some good, some indifferent but all capable of bringing back happy memories of the trip. The pen and wash of Beaune was done from a sketch I did one the way back from that holiday.

Denis, I am going to St Maxime just near St Tropez (which is my favourite place I think - all those gorgeous buildings and million dollar yachts!). I did do a rather inept pen and wash of St Tropez last year (on my gallery if you want to have a look) - my first attempt at this medium. I normally don't get time to draw or paint as I have 4 grandchildren in tow, but they are now a more civilised age so I might grab a few moments to record some of the scenes this year.
