Denise, this is absolutely stunning..........the detail must have done your eyes in! :-p wish i had your talent :-)

I agree it is fascinating seeing what was a work in progress Denise, not just Thea interested to see this, it is lovely even when it isn't finished

Thank you for posting this. It is most interesting and I shall definitely now go and look at your Facebook page. 90-95 hours - you must be really patient. I would have given up miles before that. However, I can really see where the work goes as the detail is amazing. Off to Facebook now....

This is a fascinating peek into your work process, Denise! The way you build the detail is just amazing. Thanks so much for sharing.

This is a posting of a previous painting of mine before it was finished. Thea for you mainly although the whole process is not obvious here. This painting took approximately 90 - 95 hours to complete in its entirety. I pencil a rough idea of placements, but mainly detail is added in sections with ink pens. I use several photos which I take myself, and a little artistic licence . This way I feel that I am not just re-producing a replica image of the photo , which is not what I am trying to achieve at all. I do all the detailed work in pen then the colour is added at the end with diluted inks. I have a facebook page on which I have documented a daily update of this painting taking shape. The page is denisebutlerartist/facebook.com. Come by and like my page to see more of my work. Thank you everyone that has posted such nice comments and sorry to bore anyone by re-posting !
