They are having the time of their life by the look of it Dawn......nice one.

They were, Fiona. So good to see because he didn't cope well in the dogs' home.

A lovely painting Dawn and well done you for adopting him, he certainly looks happy now doesn't he

He looks so happy Dawn, great painting of the two dogs. We have another rescue dog now, she is a year old, she has spaniel and collie in her, so pretty. I'm tempted to draw and paint a pic of her but I'm totally rubbish with animals.

Thank you, David. He's my baby.

Thank you, Carole. I would love to see a pic if your doggies.

A lively successful action painting Dawn. I like the watercolor effects all around the dogs too, its subtle and does not take a way, but it is interesting with salt effects? or spattering water on the washes.

Great movement in this drawing, Dawn.

Thank you, Nancy, Margaret and Lewis for your lovely comments. Yes Nancy, I sprinkled salt on the ink wash. A bit of an experiment but I think it paid off.

They are having a wonderful time by the look of it Dawn, great picture!

Thanks. Margaret. They certainly were.

My rescue dog, Jack, making new friends when I first got him two and a half years ago. He is the German Shepherd cross. He still plays with Digger nearly every day. Day 23 and the Inktober prompt is muddy.

About the Artist
Dawn Halliwell

I started painting in Jan 2016 after the death of my youngest sister. I found it great therapy and still do! I love experimenting with different techniques and media. I mainly work in pastel or oils for pet portraits, but I also enjoy doing ink portraits with the odd landscape thrown in for good…
