Thank you all for those appreciative comments, I'm glad the narrative element struck a chord. I normally prefer wild, empty landscapes but I shall now look out for more "stories" in a scene.

This is a commission, from someone who had liked a painting of mine in the local pub. The trouble was, it was sold 2 years ago, so I reworked it. It's a scene I watched from the local canal towpath cafe, the "expert" telling the boat crew how they "should be doing it". All they wanted to do was cast off but, being English..............
