Lovely painting! If you don't like the look of the puddle you could probably just add another layer of pastel or maybe smudge it a bit? The girl is the focus anyway here so who cares about the puddle! She is gorgeous!

Masterly! Russell, I would take out the puddle's foreground lines, the ones at the edge, then simply extend the edges until they faded to nothing. After that you can simply re-examine the ripples. Anyway, this is right out of the top drawer. Bri

What is it about puddles which fascinate kids? They can't pass one without jumping in. I wonder how different your painting will be? Another great study, Russell.

A3 pastel, intended initially as a study for an oil painting but I'm quite happy with it as it is, apart from the puddle resembling a deflated balloon!
