Superb pastel work Colin, love the play of sunlight on those buildings and the row of shop fronts with their canopies, and the brightly coloured boats brighten up the scene and all topped of with a glorious blue sky

Oops, just noticed its actually an acrylic and your title was referring to your colours used Colin, love it anyway!

I was in St Tropez a couple of weeks ago, so your painting made me long to be back there. It must be one of my most favourite places in the world! However, you wouldn't find those picturesque fishing boats in the harbour now as they have been replaced by row on row of million dollar sleek yachts. Simon Cowell's 'Slipstream' was there when we were there last year, complete with Sinetta peddling away on deck on her exercise bike! Anyway, back to your painting - I think you have really captured the look of the pastel coloured buildings and the play of light on them. Nicely done.

Thank you Ros and Thea for your kind comments. Sorry to hear the fishing boats are now history--it was mostly millionaires' "yachts" even when I last visited St Topez. Hope to be going to a hilltop village in the Rhone valley the week after next, and will post any results in due course.

I was very pleased with the wide range of colours I was able to mix from just five colours plus white.
