Charming sketch Colin, lovely textures on the stone work and the path leads us to the archway very well. Good restrained use of the pen also.

This is one of my holiday sketches which I made in a small 23X31cm spiral-bound book of Arches 140lb not paper with a Faber Castell sepia pen and a little bijoux box of watercolours that I find handy for this sort of work. Bargemon is a charming hilltop town in the Var region of Provence where David Beckham is said to have a home, and I have spent many happy hours sketching there.
