Love it. Excellent Colin.

Really good Colin, lots of tricky angles

If I look hard I can see an ethereal shape appearing . A goody .

A very striking image Colin with an air of mystery.

Beautifully painted Colin, good perspectives, lots of angles there

Love all the angles, steps and how they lead the viewer into another dimension Colin.

Thanks all. Your comments are much appreciated. There are a few wayward angles. I blame cowboy builders! I was concerned that I wouldn't match the greys from session to session as I went darker. Using Indigo blue and Van Dyke brown, which are both dark and 'dirty', made the task easier than if I'd mixed purer, brighter colours.

I enjoyed this on the forum as it took shape , nice to see it here , beautifully done.

A difficult perspective but so well done.

Excellent perspective and shadows!

An excellent piece Colin. The monochrome is the perfect medium.

Has that slightly scary feel of theses ancient buildings, I remember following a guide once on a tour of a castle, he told us to be careful of a certain step, which was deeper than the rest. It was to make a prisoner fleeing from guards to stumble and fall. You have brought that back to me looking at these steps!

In the ruins of Carew Castle, Pembrokeshire. From my own photo. There is little discernible colour, so I decided to paint in monochrome using mixes of (Jackson's) Indigo and Van Dyke Brown. I resorted to a dab of white acrylic to correct a small error.
