It's difficult to capture the intensity of the yellow in rape, which is almost dazzling, but I think you have achieved it here.

I think you have made a huge step forward here. I like the detail in the foreground, and think it somehow softens the acidity of the yellow. As Sylvia notes it's a very difficult intensity to capture but the additional delicate detail provides a good balance.

This is yet another attempt to paint the fields last May when they were all yellow with the flowers. I have intensified the detail in the foreground and brighten up the sky. It one of a number of paintings I am 're-visiting' and hopefully bringing new elements - quite a useful excercise!
