I like the soft colours and the little dots and dashes that can leave so much to the viewer's imagination. A great present.

Agree with Carole. Love the brushstrokes and those distant buildings showing the viewer he recognizable buildings of Gozo. Lovely work.

A lot of work patience went into this I think and it worked. A lovely watercolour.

VERY effective - lots of detail, but no fuss.

Thanks to all for the kind comments - it is the sort of thing you 'over do' but I think I left off just in time!

I really like this Clive. The general rule is for colours to be stronger as you get to the foreground but you have reversed this and put the stength where the focus is - at the top of the mountain - and it works so well. I just love it! Jx

I'm not instictively drawn watercolour, but this I like a great deal and think it's my favorite piece in your current portfolio! Love the palette, and the level of detail in this. Well done!

Victoria is the capital city of Gozo - an island near Malta. I painted this as a last minute Christmas present for a relative who had always liked a samll sketch I did of this scene some years ago. It was a challenge to remeber the still, soft tones that were present at dusk when viewing this hilltop city from a distance.
