Boat leaving Salcombe harbour

Boat leaving Salcombe harbour

No substitute for being in the right place at the right time is there! Great painting, the grass in the bottom corner finishes it nicely.

Just love the colour of the water; the pinks and mauves are catching the light on top of it rather than in it; a superb effect.

Agree with Diana re the colours you have used in the water, and love the man and boat!

I was sitting at the harbour side in Salcombe on this sunny July morning thinking what a good view to paint, but could not see a subject to focus on. The fisherman in the boat suddenly appeared on the quay and stepped into the boat aloowing me enough time to get the camera focused on him and the boat as he steered it out to sea. Bingo there was my subject - serendipity what a wonderful thing!
