Just found this Claire and think you have made a great job of it. You have asked for constructive criticism and the only point I would make is that you should try mixing your washes beforehand (a small puddle) and then load your brush more - don't be afraid to put plenty of wash on the paper - you can always remove any excess with a damp brush if you have put on too much. This way you will find your work will flow better and not look 'strained' . It takes a bit of practice but seeing how good your work already is I am sure you will master this most difficult medium. Best of luck and keep practising - I do and I have been painting for very many years.

I agree with Michael. I paint flowers (not in Van Gogh style) more realism, I tend to dampen the area I am painting, if it's a large area a bit at a time, then it allows the paint to move more naturally. The composition is good and I am sure with a little more practice we will be seeing some beautiful paintings from you posted. Good luck. I am self taught and have been painting regularly for a few years.

A lovely cheerful painting Claire. I think the above advice is very good, although perhaps I would have made the flower stem a little thicker so that it looks as if it will support the flower head better. Good luck with your exhibition;o)
