By the way, did you mask out the whiskers, or paint them in carefully? You may wonder why I ask: it's because I find masking fluid tends to give away the fact it's been used, but it doesn't look to me as if you've used it here - and I love being proved right....

Sorry, Robert - yes I used masking fluid. I used a rubber-tipped brush thing I just bought.

Damn! But it goes to show how well you've done it, it looks entirely right. The more I look at this painting, the better it gets - which ain't always the case!

What a lovely painting, I am new on here and will hopefully one day be able to match this quality.... :-) I have just taken up painting, still a little scared but will get there.
