It’s the painter not the paper, a good painting no matter what it’s on, though it’s lovely to use good quality paper. A good artist can produce a fine painting I believe on cheap paper as you have proven.

Works very well Chris, like the variegated washes in the headlands. You could add a hint of reflection of those I suppose? I often use a pad of bockinford from the Works shop in town, ‘works’ well, if I don’t try to layer washes, then it becomes muddy.

No matter the cheap paper, this is a lovely painting and the reflections are particularly good
