This scene is captured wonderfully by you in watercolour Christoff, love the darker shadows on the famous bridge, the woman with her brolly highlighted sets the scene perfectly, it is good to see alternative views of Venice that aren't based necessarily on the canals and waterways

As Ros says, its good to see an alternative view of Venice. Must say I would not have guessed at Venice had you not mentioned it, I just loved the composition and execution. Great watercolour.

"A Rainy Day in Venice". Based on my value sketch I rendered the scene on watercolour paper and started to bring the first wash on. Step by step I worked from the back to the front. The bright sky is in contrast to the dark shadows of the shops on the Rialto Bridge. The focal point is the woman with the bright umbrella, all other figures are just suggestions some are even "ghosts". Venice is a very special city and a rainy day can not reduce their beauty. Hope you like my approach! (
