Thanks Helen. This painting is a lovely reminder of the wonderful painting holiday spent in Sicily, a fabulous place for artists to go. The weather wasn't as hot as the painting depicts, but to convey the feeling of the place, those colours were the best choice I feel. I always apply texture to my canvases before I paint.
