My great great uncle Waite Hockin Stirling, Bishop of the Falklands. He began mission work in the Falklands in 1862 and soon expanded his work to Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. He was appointed as the first Bishop of the Falkland Islands in 1869. At that time, he became responsible for all parishes south of the Guyanas - in effect, practically all of South America. This made him a central figure in the Anglican Church in South America, as well as the South American Missionary Society.
