These are absolutely lovely. Your colours are super, and yes, the dark background has enhanced the image so well. It's very very well painted.

Very dark background, but, crucially, not a dull one. Colours in this are gorgeous, and the painting masterly.

Thank you Robert and Ruth for your comments. I painted the background using mixes of purple and dark green to emphasize the brilliance of the oranges. After painting mostly landscapes I really enjoyed a change of subject matter. Must do more!
