Although your description of how you did this is interesting, for me dissecting a picture like this spoils it. This drawing stands completely on its own without any explanation. It is simply wonderful. You have captured not only the likeness of the man but his soul as well. I'm just left wondering how you found your model.

This is another portrait within a series of three. It is a study of an Aborigine male. The subject was chosen because of the ageing facial features of the Aborigine. It is monotone black and white, produced using 6b, 4B and 2B graphite and lead pencils. The highlights and hair effects were made by using a soft rubber. The support was acid free cartridge paper. The process was done by first drawing the main facial features, Then using the pencils and rubber to get the required affect, working over and over with rubber and pencils to produce the final drawing. I found the drawing challeging and it helped me with line and mark. The drawing is A2 in size within a frame hight 76cm width 64cm. Mounted, sealed and signed.
