Many thanks for your lovely comments, Fiona, Margaret, Linda, Carole, Dermot and Cesare....very encouraging!!! Carole, I bought this small set of 10 watercolour pencils years ago in a small shop in Ambleside, .....I don't think I quite new much about watercolour then, and have learnt a lot more since, and probably have a different approach to their use now than I would have had then. I will certainly try and use them a bit more now, especially for doing smaller or more detailed work.....more experimentation needed!!!!

This little fellow should have already left for sunnier climes! Its the thought of that long journey over the sea and the Sahara that seems so daunting!! !Just rediscovered the joy of using watercolour pencils for this litte bird picture.
