Thank you so much Paul! During the process I really thought "This is so rubbish!" but was so glad I persevered and finished it.

My dad was a superb artist - painted landscapes and still life in oils. :)

In the Artsocial zoom class last night we were looking at the influences of Matisse and the way he painted his subjects etc. (Ref The music lesson, oil on canvas 1917) so Matt, our fabulous art teacher (who also happens to be my wonderful brother!) gave us this composition to try. We sketched it out with soft charcoal then applied soft pastels. It was certainly a challenge! He took the photo of his wife, Sam, sitting in their front room and called it "A room with a brew".
