Painted Life Drawing

I think it's very good, the darks and lights work really well and the eye focuses on the shapes made with colour, like the pose too.

Thank you Heather, I appreciate your feedback:)

It's lively with good contrasts between lights and darks. It is, though, out of proportion, with the top third and bottom two thirds worked on different scales. But it does give a good feeling of the model.

Interesting point Barrie: I was painting what I was seeing. The model had a very large lower half compared to her top half - the ubiquitous pear shape that most women hate! She had very narrow shoulders and narrow back. So maybe my interpretation exaggerated her proportions a bit.

A good drawing from an awkward viewpoint. Very adventurous. Well done!

Thank you Peter - appreciate your positive comment! :)

Over a few years of life drawing I have observed that men and women come in all sizes and shapes and this painting is perfectly acceptable. I love the contrasting colours. I have not yet dared to use watercolour for life drawing but this is an inspiration. Thank you!

Thank you Chris, what a lovely comment! It wasn't watercolour I used it was acrylic paint. I have not ventured into the watercolour experience....too busy buying acrylics and pastels at the moment. :)

Pushing myself out of my comfort zone...had a go at this life drawing with acrylic paint. I love doing life drawing but have always stayed with pencil or charcoal. As I get more confident with paint, I am looking for different ways to develop.
