Beautiful portrait - and a wonderful gallery :)

I love this portrait almost as much as the one of the little girl. However, the only thing I am not too sure about is the very textured look of the skin of the dark side of the boy's face. It tends to draw my eye and I don't think that should be my main area of focus. Just a very personal view and others may totally disagree with me. Fantastic work all the same though.

Another great portrait

A great portrait, I think - you've caught a young man very convincingly; I've been thinking about Thea's comment on the texture of the shadowed side of the face - but (oddly enough or not) what caught my attention first was the eyes, and I didn't register any discordant note. So I think I DO disagree with her this time: I think the shadow reflects the strong browns of his hair, and also reflect the red-blues of the shirt.
