As soon as I saw it, Carrie, I thought it had power. That wonderful mountain has real presence in your painting. You sound as tho’ you really enjoyed the experience - that’s what art is about. Well done!

This is a lovely painting Carrie and beautifully done .

Carrie your painting is brilliant and so you with your style. Love if. Very big too your canvas. Woop woop 👌💜

Love it 😏

Your title reminded me of a James Cagney film ( eons ago, you weren’t even thought of then😂) when he says “ Made it ma, I’m on top of the world - before my time too!

Thank you for the lovely comment Marjorie, i have always loved the power and sheer scale of Mount Everest so I am delighted that that came across. I really enjoyed completing this painting, the palette knives were great to use and the process just flowed so well today. I’ve never heard of that film but I’ll have to look it up now 😃

Thank you Paul 🙂

Thank you for the lovely feedback Faye. This was the biggest canvas I have ever painted on and it took a fair amount of paint I have to say 😂

Carrie - this is absolutely superb! It definitely is "top of the world"!!

You have done an excellent job of the mountain Carrie, wonderful, awesome painting.

My goodness Carrie, this is magnificent!

Thank you David, Denise and Fiona 🙂

You should be pleased. It has a lot of impact, the colours are great and that mountain the star. The flags and waymarkers help give a real sense of distance.

Really powerful image, great texture and composition, love it!

Nearly missed this treat of a painting Carrie. This is so dramatic and I love the glistening of the ice near the apex of the mountain. Great use of palette knives and how you have achieved such a variety of textures. Wonderful work.

Thank you Heather, Thalia and Carole. I am so pleased I was able to produce something successful after the train station that was originally on this canvas not working so well.

Well....it's a bit different from the station! Fabulous texture on the mountain!

Reuploaded due to incorrect photo used. I ended up painting over my Glasgow Central Station painting today with Everest. I loosened up my painting by using palette knives for the majority of it. I have to say I am really pleased with this one. Painted with acrylics on a mammoth 91x122cm stretched canvas.
