Yes it is pastel, although I am a little disappointed that the painting has lost its sharpness; I am going to replace it with a better one!

The blending is beautiful Carol, it looks almost like oil.

Thank you for the encouragement Fiona. I love your landscape watercolours; I have tried watercolour but find a painting can be going really well and suddenly it's gone! I find pastels much more forgiving. I need to learn watercolour techniques and how to recover a painting when things go wrong!

Carol, I share your thoughts and fears regarding watercolours but I enjoy the battle!lol You can do it, it's only paint!!!
