Marina Piccola - circa 1950

Found my way here from the threads. Agree with your fella, does have a 1950's feel about it. Love the chap sitting in the shadows surveying the scene. Beautiful blue sea, makes me wish I was there. A lovely summery painting.

Hi Carole...1950's feel? Maybe...Simplified? No beautifully reduced to essential & beautiful detail it all leads to that central rock, with it's little cave...I for one am glad that you did not put any curly 'V's in [supposed to be birds] in that beautiful sky...similarly no naff little boats [usually technically incorrect] in the sea...you have left it for the viewer to have a good look...well done...I like what I see here...
