Autumn Apples by Carole Kelly
I was given some lovely apples from local apple trees. I took a photo of them before making an apple crumble. I really struggled with this painting because I hadn’t prepared the canvas properly. There were thick layers of black paint where I had used too much on the canvas. Consequently the oil pastels were just sliding over these areas and I couldn’t get them to adhere to the canvas. Lesson learnt. Oil pastels on a primed canvas using water soluble oils but too unevenly. The size is 10” x 12
