I do like the Carole - contrary to what you say I think your watercolour is lovely - the red primula is the star.

Lovely Primulas, Carole!

Beautiful, Carole!

This is a good piece of artwork Carole. Yes, it does look slightly laboured, you need a lighter touch and more vibrant colours for flowers in watercolour. Try ultramarine mixed with lemon yellow for some lively greens too. Hope this helps.

Well, your labours have paid off, this is very good.

This is so lovely great work .

Thank you Anne, Linda, Valerie, Heather and Lina for your lovely comments. Frank, your suggestions are very helpful. Thank you very much for your advice.

This is lovely Carole - a touch of spring.

I think this is brilliant. In my view you are too critical of yourself !

Many thanks for such positive comments Christine and Romila.

This is a beauty Carole

Lovely red primula Carole spring flowers are such a joy 🙂

What a striking, lovely watercolor. You beautifully conveyed why the beauty of the primulas attracted you.

A lovely sensitive painting Carole.

These primulas caught my attention outside a house and I just had to paint them. Took a photo and painted them from home. I tried watercolour but I just don’t have the knack with this difficult medium. So, a very laboured attempt. Will keep on trying. Watercolour on 400gm w/c paper 10” x 12”.
