I wanted to capture the excitment of finding around three dozen paragliders flying from a high point on the South Downs one fresh and breezy day and so I allowed the underpainting of cadmium red to show through in a number of places. It was thrilling to see them all wheeling around - how they avoided collision must have been a matter of great skill!
