Bluebell wood - revised

I don't think your bluebells in the last one were awful, but I do think this is much better without the path and is a simpler and better composition, more abstract and better contrast.

This is lovely. While, like Kevin says, the pointilist bluebells did not merit the description, "awful", I think this is better. I like the carpet effect - which is what bluebells do, isn't it? May I enquire where in Hampshire? I only ask 'cos that's my home county - I'm near Basingstoke.

Thankyou so much Kevin and Amanda for your kind comments. It's actually Chute, which I should really change to being in Wiltshire ! It's from a photograph taken by a lovely woman called Sarah Morgan, sadly no longer with us. She used to run the "Woodlarks" workshops in Spinney Hollow, Fair Oak Hampshire. She was inspirational and kindly let me use her photos as ideas for paintings. I painted "Sarah's Garden" from one of her photos.

I don't know Chute, but thank you. Fair Oak ... I drove through there on Friday on my way home from Southampton. I was only slightly lost at the time.

Bluebell wood in Chute, Wiltshire - oil on canvas 46cm x 38cm. Reposted as I've revised it to remove the track which was leading the eye out of the picture and have eliminated the awful "pointillist" bluebells !
