Interesting stuff, I particularly like the Hopperesque one , top right.

Thanks Andrew. It’s an interesting exercise certainly.

I don't have an ipad, but this looks a great way to work out ideas.

What a good idea (x4)

Really interesting and no doubt would make good paintings!!

Thanks Lewis. Yes, I use an app called Procreate, it's very intuitive to use even for an old man like me. it's very easy to pick one thumbnail and do several versions and then a coloured version which could be worked up as reference before a painting.

Thanks Heather, I think having a time limit stops you getting bogged down in detail on one thumbnail too soon.

Thanks David. There are a couple here that I think I will store for later paintings.

Some great ideas here Bryan. I’m very tempted to purchase procreate - glad you inferred it’s not too difficult to use.

Thanks Spencer. It's a very popular app and there are loads of tuitional videos on you tube. I found it to be very easy to use and certainly much easier to understand than Photoshop and it is a one off purchase unlike photoshop which is subscription based. I am not sponsored by them at all I have just found it to be a good drawing and painting app and there are many others out there to choose from. Good luck in your endeavours.

Some 15 min thumbnail ideas for illustration or paintings drawn on the Ipad without using reference but can be done in the sketchbook. An interesting exercise in tonal work and may result in something to progress further in colour.
