A smasher Bryan

Excellent Bryan.

Thanks very much Heather

Thank you Peter.

Nice view Bryan - I've not used MDF - do you just use Gesso to prime it, or did you seal it first with an MDF primer?

Hi Andrew, I think this was 5mm MDF in a 12"x12" size. I didn't seal it although it might be an idea. I used three coats of gesso, sanded in between to get a smooth surface which I prefer and one coat on the back and sides. Some older paintings are stored in my garage and have had no stability problems as of yet. The 5mm MDF is very solid and I imagine could be very heavy in larger sizes. I have used it for the past 3 years in various paintings and not had any stability problems with it at all. I hope this helps.

I forgot to say, I applied the gesso thinned a little with a small roller and do several at once.

👍 Thanks Bryan.

A delightful view with the foreground tangled grasses and wildflowers framing the sunny fields!

I like this, Bryan.

Thank you Barrie.
