I love your watercolour style Brian. Clean, crisp lines and not afraid of using colour. Though this painting isn't particularly "colourful" it glows. Wonderful.

Quality work Brian! Your work gives a lot of pleasure especially the transparency of your imagery. Watercolour at its best!

Outstanding ! - clean washes and touches of colour.

Stunning work, beautiful!

Love the tonal quality and the use of the texture of the paper.

The draughtsmanship alone takes your breath away, before you even get round to considering composition and colour - those blues are beautiful, the whole painting sings.

Beautiful painting.

Thank you for your comments -- very encouraging!

Exceptionally beautiful, need my hat and coat on viewing this brrrr.............

Beautiful work.

I was going to leave a long , carefully considered comment on this lovely painting but everyone has already said it.

This is picture postcard perfect but 100 times more enjoyable than any photographic picture postcard because you are a genius with watercolour and choosing your palettes. Your portfolio is a joy to look at and an inspiration. When I see work like yours oh how I wish I understood watercolours and could paint with them and produce magic like you.

Beautiful! Very well done

This is wonderful...although it's obvious that a lot of planning and careful drawing and paintings has gone into this it still has a lovely fresh, easy atmosphere...very difficult to achieve in watercolour. I wonder how long you have been painting...how long you spend each day on it...how long one painting like this takes...and...are you a professional??

Hi Jackie, thank you for your kind comments. I have been working in watercolours for about 14 years, before then I always used oils for painting and sketching. It normally takes 3 -4 days to complete a painting. It depends on size and complexity . . . . doing an accurate drawing can be quite time consuming. I have been selling my work quite well during the last few years so I suppose I could call myself professional. Best wishes Brian

Beautiful painting. I love the crispness. Could you tell us what kind of paper this is done on? And - how long does a painting generally take you to complete? I love them all.

Brian, the most amazing watercolour that I've seen in a very very long time. Beautiful job!

My village last month, mostly done from a photo - it was too cold to work outside for long.
