Ship in heavy seas

Beautifully painted Brian. I think the sea is incredibly good. I could never advise with watercolour as I think it’s a very difficult, elusive medium and I so admire you proficient watercolourists.

Painted beautifully.

This is superb Brian, the ship is beautifully painted , the whole painting is done so well.

I forgot to add I think the sea looks fine you have the colours spot on for deep sea and the waves. I find painting the sea the most difficult part on any ship painting that I do.

Super painting, i feel the foreground is a little to dark, perhaps a shade lighter might help. A real expert on sea painting is E John Robinson who has done various videos. Some Raw sienna in the sea because you have possibly used that sort of pigment in the ship, might pull it all together. Hope this helps

So good Brian ... wouldn't want to be on that boat

Fantastic painting - captured the sea so well.

The angle of the boat and spray shows it's a rough sea so the waves are far too small. The ship is well painted though, Brian.

Thank you all for your comments they are very encouraging. I think you're correct Ronald H, the waves are too small. Thanks for the help. Brian

Super painting Brian, especially the ship.

I painted this from a picture I found on the web, I've no idea whose picture it was as there was no information with it. I found the stormy sea very difficult to paint and I would welcome any criticism/help anyone might give. It has been painted on Bockingford NOT surface.
