Winter in Detroit by Bob Hill
Oil sketch, approx 12x9 inches. Detroit is one of the places I have visited frequently on business. During winter, the wind penetrates through clothing and it was the coldest I had ever been. This view stood out for me because of the contrast between the decay of the old wharf in Detroit and the modern buildings on the Canadian side of the river. Old stumps of dead wood compared to modern, high rise concrete and glass. The passing of one era and the rise of another.
