Farmhouse Monochrome

It's a good place to start Billy and you will experience many emotions along your watercolour journey. I like the way you have overlayed your washes to get the depth of some of the tones.

Billy this is certainly not a bad start. I love watercolours, however I also appreciate how difficult and frustrating they can be, but keep at it. You are right to ,just paint in monochrome and here I agree with Fiona's comments you have good depth in places here. The main thing with watercolours is water, let the water do the work for you. Most people give in with watercolours but it is certainly worthwhile to keep trying. Well done Billy.

Don't worry Billy, I know of very few if any people who haven't struggled with what is acknowledged to be the most difficult medium. You're on a good start and keep practising.
