Beautiful portrait Beatrice

I never need to look at the name , I always know your work Bea. Light and delicate. You will be masterful when you have finished all the Grandys,

Awe... Thank you Sylvia for your ongoing support :) I feel I am going to have fun painting my other 6 grandchildren ... I will tackle my next portrait differently ...

Such a gentle and beautiful portrait of s beautiful little girl. I really admire your C.P. work as I find it so difficult, not to mention wrist aching. Diana

Thank you Diana, I really appreciate your comment. I have found C.P being demanding and fascinating. I have left myself being distracted with this one and tried to apply pencil as I was doing with Pastels. I still have to learn. I too, had pains in my wrist and thumb once I had finished... Not as light work as with a brush :)

What a wonderfully delicate portrait Beatrice. It's not always easy to achieve realistic skin tones using coloured pencil, but you certainly have here. Lovely.

You seem to be doing great with the coloured pencils Beatrice. A lovely portrait. No wonder all the grandchildren want their own.

Love the eyes

Lucy looks like an angel Bea, you have used such beautiful colours for her. Very accomplished coloured pencil art work .

Meant to say the light is wonderfully created ;)

Beautifully tentative expression here, Beatrice, lovely to see. A vulnerable little person well portrayed.

Wonderful sensitive portrait, beautiful soft colours, Beatrice.

Wow! Thank you so much to you all for the pat on the back! Thank you Joanne. You are right about the colours for the skin ... I searched within my pencils and made trials on a spare piece of paper. Thank you Adele :) I have a long journey ahead of me with portraits... the queue is rather long LOL Thank you Peter. I worked hard on the eyes. On the photo, the right of the face was hidden with shadow and so I had to work with a bit of head scratching... :) Thank you dear Carole. At 13 months they look like angels... They are a true inspiration... thank you too for the mention about the light :) Thank you for your so king words Ruth. Very encouraging :) Cesare, thank you so much for your so lovely comment. I really appreciate it.

Like your watercolours this is so soft and delicate Bea and I like the way you've faded out the bottom of her portrait. She looks a little angel :)

It's a lovely portrait Beatrice. There's nothing nicer than trying to capture your grandchildren in paint, I look forward to seeing them all in the weeks ahead.

Luminous and lovely

Thank you so much Val for this so kind appraisal! She is still a bit of an angel at 13 months and nearly walking.. :) afterwards she might be a busy angel :D Thank you so very much Russell. You might have grandchildren and know the pleasure of capturing them while they are young.. I will try my best to post them as soon as they are painted... Thank you so much Shirley for your lovely comment

Beatrice sorry I missed this one beautifully done I love the contrast in tone ie either side of the head also reflected light bouncing around .It is difficult to draw young children but you have achieved an excellent result skillfully drawn and sensitively observed

Beatrice, thank you for your comment on Smell the Flowers, it was lovely to hear from you. I have just found this work and oh yes, coloured pencil work is most demanding...you have done this beautifully, it is so soft and delicate and will be treasured, I am sure!

Just realised I have seen and commented on this before....But it is even better seeing it the second time round!!

My second painting with coloured Pencils. It was a challenge!! If we cannot do much correction with watercolour, there is not much we can do to correct the work with Pencils otherwise everything get messed up. As it is my first portrait. I have learnt a few tips and will be prepared for the next one. I have another 6 grandchildren to paint. Everybody want one... It is going to be very rewarding. I have use Derwent and Fabercastell on Stonehenge paper

Beatrice Cloake, N.A.P.A

My work is made of emotions. I only paint what appeals to me and move my senses. Probably this is the reason why I feel the need to paint so many different subjects. My passion is to play with sunshine and light falling on objects, flowers, sceneries. I very often stumble on a moment of sheer…
