Ken is landlord of my local pub, The Star, at Whiteshill, near Stroud. He recently commissioned me to paint his portrait, which now hangs in his new restaurant area. I was surprised to be asked as I've never done a portrait before or even painted an interior scene, but for these reasons I relished the challenge and was delighted to be asked.
