Good still life. I remember struggling with hot pressed too

Barry, it's interesting hearing about you exploring with different papers. I normally use the "not" as I like a really crisp surface but also got some indian paper with not enough size in it so sprayed it with loads of spray starch which gave me more control. This is a lovely friendly painting. I think you are very brave trying a new paper as part of a workshop.

I too struggle with hot pressed paper. I normally use rough and on occasions not. However, that said this is a lovely still life.

This has turned out well Barry, a lovely still life with great composition

Thank you all for your comments it’s good to hear of your experience with hot pressed paper. In terms of the teaching Annie I really like to explore and share and thankfully when things are not going well I see it as an opportunity add to the learning process. That might change if I have a complete disaster one day!!!!

Thank you Maureen, I will be exploring more with the hot pressed and I may try your pastel suggestion.

Lovely still life, Barry.
