Thank you Paul I find some of the best expressive marks are done in such situations when ones not trying to recapture what’s in front of you. Replicating that when you want the effect is the difficult bit.

Thanks Stephen it did sort of grow once I started to see elements emerge from the various shapes.

Practice, exercise? call it what you will but always super productive like this.

Its lovely free piece of work Barry , I work this way a lot of the time I start with a sky and end up with a painting it's great fun

From a doodle it developed into a simple picture. I am sure we have all done it faced with a desire to paint or draw without any idea of a subject. That was me this morning and my doodles metamorphosed into my posted painting .
