Setting sail from Cape Town
Just completed this watercolour of the Union Castle passenger and mail ship, Windsor Castle, setting sail from Cape Town. Unfortunately the service was withdrawn in 1969 ( I stand to be corrected) . I can remember the journey via the West coast of Africa used to take three weeks and included in the cargo used to be the latest British magazines and comics so I always received my editions of magazines three weeks after their release in the UK!!
