Very interesting treatment of leaving one wall white in the whole scene. You've captured some spatial depth too. I'm interested to know what paper this is on (given the texture).

I agree with gerry leaving that church white is very interesting, it gives the feel like it should that in towns its the most important building, and was built to stand out and be seen over everything else. Love this its brilliant and well thought out.

Gerry - it is just a cheap Crawford and Black Watercolour paper I picked up from the Works. I t seems to work well with my ink and pencil sketches.

Thank you Jen for your very kind remarks, too!

Amazing detail and shading, good one David.

Very impressive work David.

Super work David. I know the paper you mean, the ridged finish gives work a painted on linen feel.

Thank you Stephen, Lewis and Frank for your kind support.

Wowzer, this would have made me goggle eyed and hats off to you, I like it very much

A lot going on here David. Good work

Good work, David - leaving the white on the church works well and the boat with it's rigging is so graceful!

Beautifully drawn the detailing is amazing.

Thank you Heather, Martin, Anne and Paul for your very kind comments!!

Certainly gives a feeling of peace and safety

Beautifully drawn, so much detail!

An incredibly challenging work David. You have achieved a great sense of depth here and there is so much interest within the painting, I could look at it for ages. Superb.

Really interesting sketch, David

Thank you Martin, Lynda, Carole and Thalia for your very kind remarks.

Lovely work!

Thank you for your kind comment, Romila!

Super work David.

Thank you, Denise!

Thank you, Russell.

Great drawing David, would love to know how you planned it!

Very well done David, a complicated collection of houses.

Thank you Trevor and Carole for your kind comments. Trevor I drew the boat first followed by the church at the top of the sketch and then I filled in the rows of houses starting at the lower level!
