A beauty Sandra lovely all round

Thank-you very much Dennis. Had a bit of fun with this one.

That's what it's all about Sandra it's exhilarating when they just take a life of their own

Interesting landscape Sandra with rich colours.

Lovely Sandra which planet is it, Mars . It's great and you had fun that's exactly like me .

Thank-you Dennis and Carole. I didn't have a specific planet in mind. I think Mars would be redder, although it could be that reddish brown, with perhaps some green algae. Venus is at least partly metallic (has metallic snow if I remember correctly) but does not have a moon. So possibly not a planet in this solar system?

Imaginative work Sandra, never used metallic paints.

Thank-you Alan. Metallics are quite fun to use, but I can't see them as a good fit for your lovely oil paintings.

I think it's the moon Sandra! Very imaginative.

Thank-you very much Margaret.

Nice effects Sandra 😃

Some intriguing effects, Sandra. I like the textures of the foreground and the recession into the mid- and background. It's very effective.

Thank-you Seok, I appreciate your nice comment.

I like the subdued palette Sandra, it gives the feeling of desolation, the metallic paints have come into their own with the hit and miss reflection of light on the ground. Very imaginative work.

Thank-you very much Fiona, much appreciated.

Very colourful and pleasing image

Thank-you very much Dermot, much appreciated.

Abstract isn't my scene Sandra but good use of colours here. Tried metallic paint but didn't like them much. Your painting doesn't look like it is that you are using. The paint has blended well.

Thank-you Dorothy for your lovely comment. I don't know whether the paints were genuinely metallic or just metallic colours.

One from last year. Acrylic on canvas 16x12 inches. An imagined landscape using some metallic paints I've had for a while.

About the Artist
Sandra Kennedy

I became hooked on painting when I joined an evening class on painting "Abstracts in Acrylic" some years ago. Now retired, I was painting fairly regularly until the last couple of years when I've had a "creative drought". This year I'm getting back into painting, concentrating on abstract.
