Oh that is such a shame Avril, this is beautiful with that gorgeous blue and so ornate. Tons better than a block of flats! Shame about the trees and gardens too. Great painting as always.

Intense cobalt blue and burnt sienna, beautiful drawing and so many memories, all gathered together in this fantastic watercolour! It really is a masterpiece Avril!

A watercolour 33 x 47 cm on hand made paper from the Museo della Carta in Fabriano. This gate was recently demolished along with its house to make way for a block of flats that is rapidly rising along the banks of the Seine. Trees and garden have disappeared too !
