Another fantastic old door gate Avril, very well painted

You spot the most interesting old doors Avril! This is so well done.

Good to see you back! This is sooo beautiful, Avril. I love the limited colour scheme and the beautiful "lines" in the wooden door or gate.

Avril, it's fantastic! How you do them beats me! I can feel the brittle old wood under my fingers and smell the dry rust. The colours are so gentle and the shadows beautiful. Well done!

Beautiful Avril.

What a lovely surprise to find all these encouraging comments..... I wasn't sure about the composition here - thank you.

Great texture and lovely colours as always Avril. Those rusty nail heads look positively 3D.

Beautifully painted Avril

And another fabulous painting! It's gorgeous, Avril. I love how you achieve the essential details and yet keep your washes so pristine. It's beautifully done.

I think this composition works in spades! Super use of colour as always, and you always achieve such clarity.

Thank you Val,Paul, Seok and Lesley for taking the time to encourage me.

Doors are tricky things to make, so if you've gone to a lot of trouble and expense to have a sturdy one installed, especially in centuries past, you patch and mend them - often while the building collapses gently around the frame! You've caught this process perfectly Avril. I can feel the grain under my fingers...

Gorgeous . I love the rusty studs and the old timber.

beautiful work! bravo Avril!

Another....! of my old doors or gates. This one was in Venterolle in the Drome. How it held together beats me.
