Looks pretty damn good to me. Lots of great texture with the rust and peeling paint, and a lovely feel of sunshine created with the dark shadows around the door.

I can believe this has taken ages Avril but it is excellent, such wonderful detail and beautiful colours.

This is just amazing Avril! I cannot find words to say how brilliant it is but believe me, it is!!!

You are very patient Avril. I think this looks fantastic. Wonderful bright clear colours.

Thanks for your encouragment and appreciation which I value highly and always helps me foreward.

This is really beautiful Avril, great details and composition

Again a beautiful addition to your amazing gallery, Avril. I am a great admirer of your choice of subjects and the colours you use. A real eye-catcher (again)!!!! Mia x

Just beautiful, especially the ropes :)

Its perfect!! so dont look ! yet again queen of rust!:)Linda

Avril, it never ceases to amaze me how you appear to use "random" colours and achieve such outstanding images. I'm pretty sure theres a lot of thought behind it, yet you make it look so easy! Just beautiful.

Absolutely fantastic Avril. There's so much colour in this it should be on a fairground

The Rust Queen strikes again!! No-one can do it like you, Avril. However, this is a lot more than a painting of rust - it has ropes, doors, all sorts of details all painted with flair and artistry. Your interpretation makes your viewer look at your subject in a new light, noticing all the subtleties of colour and texture. Quite magnificent.

What superb colours - quite outstanding Avril

Well what a great start to the day finding all your lovely comments. As I said it took me a while and some days I couldn't face it..... when a painting isn't finished it always looks so awful ! Tony I have a fairly limited palette- ultramarine , burnt sienna , alizaron crimson, manganese blue and indian yellow. A touch of permanent mauve and winsor orange and viridian. I've promised myself I'll do a smaller, simpler subject next time.

Just magical Avie. I take it this will be in the summer portfolio?!

Utterly beautiful use of colour, your painting of decay and age brings new life to these subjects, stunning work!

Just goes to show that watercolour can be painted in so many different ways, strengths and techniques. You have done this beautifully.

Objectively, it is pretty fabulous, Avril! I love the subtle yet varied colors you use to describe rust and peeling paint. Thank you too for your very kind comment on my painting. You didn't miss any posts as I haven't been posting for a while. I've been away, hence I'm catching up on the backlog of postings!

Such detail Avril, must take you so long to paint these

Well it's fab,

Detail of a decaying trawler in Camaret. 31 x 46 cm on Langton Prestige. Has taken ages to paint and I'm incapable of an objective look at it !!!!
