Sunset of Hope by Ave Hurley AH-001-002
I have painted with acrylics for the last 30 years. Before that I worked with oils. Over the last few years I have been experimenting with digital painting using PhotoImpression on either jpeg files of my paintings or using a blank canvas to start out with. I manually painted this one pixel by pixel and blending with digital tools such as the paint tool, drawing tool & smudging tool to create this ocean sunset scene. The actual digital painting time exceeded 100 computer hours over the course of 1 month. During the creation of this piece it was set to a resolution of 1200% in order to paint each inch enlarged to full monitor view and then reducing it to connect and blend each section to complete the painting like a giant puzzle. Whether or not this is how other digital artists work, I am uncertain as I am self taught and found that by enlarging portions of my pallette I could achieve more details and clarity when reduced back to printable size. I have also found that details I could not attain with a brush I can now sometimes achieve with the digital editing tools. I also like the wider variety of colors I can use and the control over their intensity within the adjustments in the programming. I have set this painting to be able to print it in detailed sizes up to 13 x 19 inches and have also been able to reduce it with clarity to the size of an Artist Trading Card or ACEO. I do my own printing and no two are ever exactly alike, so each one becomes a unique collectors item. The details are fine enough that I can also have this printed larger through commercial printing services when requested. To see more of my art visit me here as I am a new arrive. My own website is www.ArtRave.com which I built and share with other artists showing their art online as well. Thanks for looking. Have a great day :) Ave Hurley
