A Walk in the Woods by Ashley Raddon

Beautiful light, freshly applied washes in a nice composition. It works.

This is my favourite of the pieces you posted yesterday. As well as beautiful light, I like the way you've handled the trees.

Really good, love the style and the figures.

There’s a great sense of freedom of style here and the light is excellent

Thanks everyone, yes I learned a lot from painting with US watercolor master Andy Evansen last summer in Scotland watching how using negative shapes to create say trees in this case with a connected shape works but takes a little planning. And also where to make your focal point and suggest the rest loosely, not easy but great fun experimenting isn't it :)

I do like the loose style of this.

Very effective use of watercolours, figures are brilliant as is the background! Top class painting and most importantly you seem to have stamped your own style with this one which is hard to do, SUPERB!

I took a slightly experimental approach to paint a woodland scene with figures, which was fun. Winsor and Newton on Bockingford paper.
