A commissioned wedding portrait

You made a super job of this oil painting Margaret, the tartan is fine and quite lights up the scene being a good foil against the brides white dress

Thanks Ros. I can't say I really enjoy doing this sort of thing though. People who commission portraits always seem to want them to be exactly like photographs. I can't see the point personally because they might just as well HAVE a photograph. They could even have it printed on canvas to look like a painting!. I find it really boring and tedious just reproducing a photograph. I'm just glad this painting is finished and they like it!

Superb painting, but I know what you mean, and it's worse when they give you a bad photo.

Just finished this wedding portrait. Oils on canvas. 24x18 inches. I found tartan rather difficult to paint !.
