The objects appear to be sliding off the table...but that is part of the charm of this lovely painting. I think!

Yes it IS deliberate ! It is semi abstract and the perspective is deliberately askew. Also it is painted on a gallery canvas and the picture goes round the sides giving it even more of a surreal feel.
